My Mom was a huge religious nut at that time in my life. She was sensitive to certain cartoons. She thought the smurfs were demonic. You missed out if you haven't seen Thunder Cats. At the boys club in Temple. The TV room would fill to the brim when He-Man came on. I watched GI Joe and it left me irritated. Once in a while I wanted Cobra to win.
Had some little GI Joe action figures too. A Cobra tank and a GI Joe Helicopter. On the helicopter, it had a button you could slide and it'd make the propeller spin.
As a kid I was generally out of the house by 8:00 am.Back in the day you got up cleaned up and ate breakfast and could watch cartoons till they went off at noon then you better be outside doing something.
Not that one, but a radio jingle out of San Antonio that went "You can afford a Ford if you buy from Gillespi, if you buy from Gillespi, you can afford a Ford."Does anyone on here remember a car commercial that went "Bob Bob west way ford.... West..... way..... ford?"
My Dad would sometimes watch Soul Train on Sat late morning/afternoons.
