If the bore was damaged can the gun still shoot consistent groups?

    I thought the windage adjustable rear sights are to adjust for different distances to the target. You cannot do that with regular sights since they don't move up and down.

    Windage is "left and right", you are talking about elevation.

    You are assuming everything is machined and assembled perfectly. Were this true, you would be right.

    But that is a bad assumption.

    Adjust the sights.

    Or left or right to adjust for misalignment of assembled parts.
    Part of assembly lines means that ALL parts are made to tolerance. Not perfection.
