I just sorted through four 5 gallon buckets of wheel weights I've picked up in the past month.

I got less than 20% useable lead out of those buckets. I'm done with wheel weights. I guess I'll just be using scrap pure and super hard from Rotometals from now on.

Even though I have all the time in the world it's just not worth sorting through those buckets and then having to deal with the zinc and steel that's left over.

    Gunz are icky.
Like you I don't even bother with them anymore.
    Too many aren't lead.

Rotometals is good. Have ordered from them many times.

Wheelweights are mostly a waste of time now. Way too many zinc and steel weights. Plumbing/construction scrap is still a good choice if you have a reputable source. Otherwise, dealers like Rotometals and some others are good choices.

I have got "hospital " lead from my scrap yard before
Its clean albeit a tad soft but that can be fixed easily
It's from the shielding in the imaging machines

We're in this shape on wheel weights because of Obunghole shutting down the last lead smelting plant in this country. I keep hoping Trump will open it back up, but may be too late.
