I'm looking for good reasons to own a 1911, what are they?

I like shooting mine too much to baby them, but then I'm not a collector. I wouldn't want to buy a firearm I would be afraid to scratch.

Well, they are expensive and I'm anal. If I scratch my Glock no problem, If I scratch my Dan Wessons I get depressed. I'm sure I am not the only one like that : ) I still carry them sometimes.
I have three DW's and carry them all. The Duty Finish is hard to beat or scratch. I bought them to shoot and use.. My EDC is a Dan Wesson ECO, and I have 2 and the back up is a ECP. All in 45ACP.

I have 6 Dan Wesson's and I carry them too, just not as much as my Glock or Sigs : ) I actually carry my Colt 1911's more than the DW's
