I'm looking for good reasons to own a 1911, what are they?

I think I may have just pissed off the wife. I just bought another 1911a1. I am like some kind of addict and I just couldn't pass it up. This makes 9, Government Model 1911a1s. maybe she won't notice when it gets delivered. Decent Military National Match models just don't come around very often.

    Then she'd REALLY hate me...

Well @Byrd666 as of today I’m up to 5 of these suckers.

And I have ten toes. what's your point?

The Beretta 92 series guns disassemble pretty easily.
The 92X Performance is a bad ass looking gun.
    Hi-cap. Has a rail too.

Bersa TPR 9 or TPR 9C are also high capacity mags., 17 and 13 respectively, and the easiest, I know of to field strip. And they both have rails. But they, nor the Beretta, are of the 1911/2011 platform.

Lucky guy! I have only seen one Remington-Rand and that was in museum case, much less actually held one in my hands.
You have to get a real one of yo and your life will change!
I'd love to have one, but way out of my price range.
Do NOT give up! If you really want and need one it will show up then Jump on it.
Some things never pass by a second time. Like a particular gun and a good woman!

As far as semi-auto pistols go I am always leaning toward .45s. I do have some 9mm pistols just because. Browning Hi-Powers, Lugers, P-38 Walther's, C-96 Mauser's and even Mini UZIs.
I have a standard "Tel Aviv" Israel UZI pre ban but it is in .45acp.
I am stuck with what was my first semi-auto handgun for over sixty years.
I guess I will have to do a layout group photo of my illness.

    Let's put it this way...I have 11 STI's alone, and 10 Randall's....and I have at least 8 other manufacturer's of 1911's in my stable....
    Kudos! That is amazing!
Pardon me for being an old school purist. I only have actual 1911s and 1911a1s. If I went after the other manufacturers of "1911s" I wouldn't have all these several hundred pieces of other junk. LMAO!
    Good on ya my friend.

Well, there were times when what Colt turned out were less than what they should have been, and "fixing" them was more expense than they were worth, IMO. There are a number of mfr's that turn out perfectly acceptable to outstanding examples of the 1911, and I enjoy owning 'em.

Nope, but now I want one.

I'm on the wait list for one. I talked with one of the 'smiths Monday about one. it would seem that all but the sight and holster boxes are checked for my needs. The sights were most likely going to be changed out anyway. And a custom leather, or higher end type competition-ish holster would have been made or ordered regardless.
