I'm looking for good reasons to own a 1911, what are they?

I'm on the wait list for one. I talked with one of the 'smiths Monday about one. it would seem that all but the sight and holster boxes are checked for my needs. The sights were most likely going to be changed out anyway. And a custom, or higher end type competition-ish holster would have been made or ordered regardless.

I didn’t notice any pricing on their website and assumed it fell into the category of if you gotta ask, you can’t afford it.

Absolutely. Assuming it arrives by then, of course. I think he said they were a bit over thirty (30) days out from receiving next shipment.

I like the thought of a 45 acp Commander with 14+1 capacity. As long as its not a 3 pounder like my RIA 2011 in 10mm.

I for one do NOT know. Take it from me. I wasted alot of money on them and for what? College of "hard Knocks"
It may be time to go entirely to Revolvers!

Well, there were times when what Colt turned out were less than what they should have been, and "fixing" them was more expense than they were worth, IMO. There are a number of mfr's that turn out perfectly acceptable to outstanding examples of the 1911, and I enjoy owning 'em.

I am not saying that all of the variations on the theme "1911" are bad in any way! Look at crap I spent good money on! I should keep this stuff to myself!

It's on my bucket list to rent a 1911. I'm 64. Shooting handguns 40 years & .22 rifles 54 years. I have never shot a 1911. I've never even picked one up. Kinda weird I suppose. I've ridden motorcycles since 1973 but never rode a Harley either. Also on my bucket list.
