Your wife’s feelings are hurt. Women know that men look but it feels crummy to lots of women to see husband looking and feel like IDK, chopped liver?

who knows what she’s thinking but I know by experience it’s probably not very much fun for her RN.

Most of these posts replies here start with “tell her... blah blah blah.”
I think “telling her” anything is the WRONG move.
I really don’t think there’s much to say except you love her which I’m sure she knows already. I don’t think you should tell her much of anything. You really don’t have anything to apologize for, nor does she. It is what it is. But her feelings are hurt so there is that to address.

it’s just a crappy moment to get past. I would say being considerate and accepting and understanding would get you further than trying to be cute or “right.” If her feelings being hurt is a problem for her, then it’s your problem too, right? You are both on the same team.

I have a thing for Kate Beckinsale (Underworld era). When I would see her on TV I’d say “when I marry Kate you WILL call her mommy” to which my daughter would roll her eyes and say, “ if you marry her, I WILL call her mommy.” Then we both laugh.
