    Out here by the lake!
First deer hunt i got to go on in Texas was out in Hondo. 10 point shows himself. I'm sitting there thinking this must be some kind of pet deer, because his body size. At lunch the land owner asks if we seen anything? When I mention the 10 point he asked why I didn't shoot? After explaining body size he laughed real good & said He had been hoping to take that one himself. I told him I was glad not to shoot his trophy buck.

I was born and raised in southern Indiana. When I first got to Texas to stay, in 1998, I was driving by a field and saw some big rabbits in it. Then I blinked and looked harder, and realized they were deer. I was used to Indiana-sized deer. Texas has a lot of big things, but deer don't seem to be one of them.

He Leadeye, I think we are (were?) on the same Indiana forum. (I seem to remember a KJQ as well?) I posted there under "Alamo", but that was already taken when I joined TGT. Welcome to Texas! To the forum at least. :)
I been lookin for you, BCHS graduate.
