Haven't yet seen it and have heard mixed reviews, BUT...for me, any movie where Jews kill Nazis had got to be a good flick. 'Escape from Sobibor' comes to mind.

Having my four grandparents, two uncles, a gorgeous aunt and many cousins murdered by the Nazis may influence my views. Growing up, my friends had these magical people in their lives called 'grandparents' and I never understood what that was all about. So even if QT turns the pyramid on its point, or makes the wrong people look like barbarians, it may still have some merits. Hope to see it this week.

Disclaimer: Huge QT fan myself, can't say I've ever seen a movie that he has been involved with I didn't like.

    Spoiler Alert:

Hitler dies. So does the entire leading portion of the Nazi party. I don't see what there isn't to like about that? Its a Tarintino flick, you don't go to see them for historical accuracy, you go to see them because they are fun. No where near as bloody as I was expecting it to be, guess I just misunderstood when someone said it is a different type of gore than what you got from Kill Bill 1/2.

The acting was supposed to be campy/bad, it was meant to be like those old Spaghetti Westerns, just in Nazi Occupied France, not the middle of some random desert. Awesome WWII gun porn. David Bowie was a nice touch, too. The guy who played Hans Landa...fricken PERFECT. I think he channeled the mentality of those guys right on.

Compared to the other drivel that has come out this year, probably one of the best movies I've seen. Still can't waith for Gamer and Zombieland, though!

Thank you! Someone who gets it! You are right, not near as bloody as QT's movies often are. Kill Bill 1 was a little better than 2. Total classic. Reservois Dogs, classic. Jackie Brown. From Dusk till Dawn. True Romance and one of the best movies ever made, Pulp Fiction.

And, if you want some really good gun porn, check out his collaberations with Robert Rodriguez, Desperado and Once Upon a Time in Mexico. Hollywood actors are lined up 10 deep to work with him.

I will be the first in line to see Zombieland!!!!

    Seriously . . . what's not to like

    1. Lots of dead Nazis. Boys, we are gonna kill NAATZEEs and each of you owe me 100 NAATZEE Skalps and I intend to collect
    2. Gratuitous bloodshed: the bar scene for instance.
    3. Gratuitous Carving: I reckin your goona take that NAATZEE Uniform off after the war . . . . I just can't abide by that . . . followed by carzing a swastika in the NaatZee's forehead.

Campy acting in the nature of spaghetti westerns.

Jesus. What did you people expect . . . . hysterical accuracy?

This was a funny and good show.

I saw this as an impromtu Double Feature. Saw District 9 1st, then this one.

I heard that movie rocked, any truth to that?

DC, I saw District 9 on Saturday before I went to Shiloh. It was without a doubt one of the worst movies I have ever seen. I was on the verge of walking out 2 or 3 times. I had such high expectations. Save your money. But that is strictly MHO

I wanted to see District 9, but I'm not so sure now. I'll wait for it to come out on DVD in 3... 2... 1... got it!

I have to believe (not having seen the movie) that a flick about WWII involving a bunch of politically incorrect Americans gratuitously killing Nazis must have an agenda. Did the Nazis resemble Republicans? Did the American heroes use the term Right-Wing Fascists (a non-sequitur) when describing the Nazis? What was the angle? There had to be one!

No sir, Tarantino has no political agenda. It was about a band of American Jews put together to do nothing except kill Natzis. They were wreaking havoc on the people who slaughtered their people with a twisted humor that only QT can provide, period!

No agenda, no historical accuracy, just plain ole fun!

    I don't speak Italian?

Exactly, the third most eye tal yan...

While I enjoyed the heck out of I.B., I thought D9 was craptastic. I figured it was a remake of Enemy Mine starring Louis Gossett Jr. (of Iron Eagles fame) from the early 80's. I went in expecting a human vs. alien armageddon and instead got a inter-species friendship lovefest complete with cutesy alien baby in the middle. Calling this movie gay is offensive to gays.

I'll find your agenda for you DoubleAction! How about this for starters? Let's begin with GI JOE: Real American He-ro, GI JOE! So I've been waiting, I don't know 30 years for this movie to be made and what do I get? A freaking blue helmeted, Nato, fancy-pants! Whatever happened to "Real American Hero"??? The Stars and Stripes wearing, true - American bad ass, GI Joe that we grew up with is not in this flick. I bet GI JOE 2 is going to have Hollywood tell us that Joe is actually life partners with "Rip-Cord" struggling with the evil "Dont ask, dont tell" policy of the American military. All the while, wearing a blue helmet, softening up the moviegoing populace of America to the idea of Nato soldiers pounding our streets and each other. Next, you have Inglorious Basterd's taking a particular time in history and using the most popular false idols in Hollywood to SHOW the dumbass movie going populace what REALLY happened...Although I was heartily entertained with Inglorious Bastards, I was also suffering with an internal conflict of whether or not I should be getting angry at myself for enjoying propoganda. Seriously, take a look around the theater next time and I bet you can find 10 people in that theatre that will believe what they see for fact!!! Strangely enough, the only other movie that has made me that mad at myself for watching, yet still enjoying, was "Wanted" for guiltily, somewhat enjoying, the bend the bullet movie. This movie stars Angelina Jolie, who of course, forms the other half of the two headed anti-christ, with Brad Pitt. Those 2, paired with the ?-teen children they cheerfully adopt or hire, er, sire, make for one hell-uva sheeple leading, first family of New Orleans.
