I never carried a gun in the Texas HS but I carried other weapons.

A female teacher was going through a terrible divorce and her old man called and threatened that he would come to the building, hide in her area, then jump her when she arrived. One morning, she ran from the building, entered the AG area and hid under a desk. The woman was terrified of her husband!

The Principal asked me to help sweep her area until we were sure she was safe. So in the morning, we would sweep her area. I carried a blackjack in my pocket and I told the boss "If I see him, he's going to hit the deck! There won't be any talking..............he's going down!" He agreed.

At other times, I kept Baseball and golf equipment handy. After Columbine, I did their lock down drills as directed but always had "sports" equipment available, too.
