Do any of you ever think that Glock will add Interchangeable backstraps?
Doubtful, but with HK's entire new line-up having them, it's possible. It seems the market is tending towards modularity, ie. adjustable HK models, Sig P250, etc.
Glock is geared more towards going with the whole SF concept at the moment. They have had a few years to jump on the wagon but haven't. The general consensus seems to be that since the guns are partially produced in europe and then imported for finally assembly in the US, and since the guns are primarily marketed to LE and military everywhere else but here that the interchangeable backstrap is probably not going to happen any time soon from that sector since its not a big saling point to the military types (just more parts to loose and stock).
The rumor mill is starting to churn out word that Glock is going to start actually producing complete units here in the states. Along with those rumors are some circulating that they are looking at finally bringing the 380 auto glocks out in the US (banned from import for points), possibly start marketing single stack subcompacts like the G36 (made due to pressure from the US market) in other calibers, and possibly bring out swappable backstraps.
All I ask is that I can legally own a Glock 18c. :-)
Yes, I think they will. And then every Glock fan will pretend like they were invented by Glock.
Nah, the glock-o-philes will start complaining about them and talking about the good ole days when Glocks came only one way and you liked it like 1911 owners.
Yeah, maybe that would cause a schism in the Church of Gaston.
What do you think the gen 2, 2.5, and 3 grips did. Blood starts to flow when folks talk about what makes them better then gen 1.
Glock is not going to do anything to change the design except the SF idea... wishful thinking at best with all the other talks.
im going to start a rumor, Glock is gonna team up with charles vanek and turn the g34 into a 1911.
Hey, then it'll be worth buying!
