While the data is five years old, Wikipedia shows the US as the highest with 88.8 firearms per 100 residents (we're #1!) followed oddly by Serbia (58.2/100), Yemen (54.8/100) and then Switzerland (45.7/100). I honestly don't expect those numbers have changed too much over the past five years.

But obviously there is some ambiguity in those statistics, as with states/countries that have no registration (such as Texas), how does anyone know exactly how many guns there are?!?

Interesting, but too arbitrary to be considered scientific.

I believe every home there has an automatic rifle and a ration of ammo issued to them. Every so often the govt inspects the ammo and if it's found to be opened you're up sh*t creek. I think they narrowly voted down a measure to ban gun not too long ago. So things are not as good for gun ownership as they would seem in the long run.

Not every home. They have rules like we do, and not every individual household has a qualified person. Plenty don't. If you move to Switzerland, they don't automatically issue you a rifle at the border, LOL.
