I always shop for the best deal, unless it's a gotta have it now gun, (can you say EMP).
I usually start with auctionarms.com or gunsamerica.com and Buds gun shop always has good deals. I have never paid the manufactures recommended price. If I want a look/feel of the gun before I buy I'll go to the neighor hood Cabelas or Bass Pro, but rarely do I buy there.
    just my .02.

I always check the Saxet gun show in Austin before I buy a new gun ... my last purchase, this summer, was a Kimber Ultra Carry II in black ... the gun shop where I always shop wanted $795 + tax ... so I called a bigger gun shop in Austin ... they had one in stock, for $750 + tax ... I decided I'd drive over there on a Saturday and save $45, but went to the gun show first ... $675 OTD for NIB ... it was a real eye opener ... I won't abandon my local shop, but I'm retired and can't afford to toss away 120-plus dollars.
