I moved to This Great State 4 months ago with my Wife From Commifornia. Obviously Texas is Better than Commiland in the sense that There is a 2nd Amendment, Lower Taxes, ect... But Iv got to ask this Nail biting Million Doller question. With the recent BETO scare. Do any of you think Texas will Turn Blue in the near future ? Do you think there will me major Restrictions on the 2nd Amendment like They did in Commifonia ?

Just like in a lot of other states: no guarantees (on ANYthing)! Nobody has a crystal ball to know for certain what the future will bring.

There are a lot of areas in Texas where the “liberals” (Democrats) carry the vote. These include most of the big metropolitan areas (City & County) as well as most of the lower Rio Grande valley counties.

I would dare say most native Texans are sure concerned about out-of-staters moving in and fundamentally changing the political landscape they grew up with and are most familiar/comfortable with. As to the future of Texas politics, only time will tell.

Makes me feel glad I'm old! :green:
That is what I keep saying in threads like this. Those that have read my posts in similar threads know that I believe it is only a matter of time before Texas turns majority blue. Don't want it to, but the trends are in place and growing. Just look at how close the Beto-Cruz 2018 race was.

    https://www.texastribune.org/2018/11/07/ted-cruz-beto-orourke-texas-history-election-results/
"With a loss Tuesday night by about 2.6 percentage points or around 223,000 votes, U.S. Rep. Beto O'Rourke got closer to toppling an incumbent Republican senator than anyone has in 40 years, which could portend a shifting Texas electorate."

Texas is the lifeboat of democracy, and we're being swamped by a sea of communists that have been taking over the rest of the country. I'm afraid that America has become the Titanic, slowly and hopelessly sinking. Less than half of the population pays taxes, and the rest are easily swayed by anyone promising "free stuff". They can't see that it is nothing more than slavery. Maybe I should say that they just refuse to see the truth. Beto didn't expose some deep new pocket of leftist support. What he did was spend an incredible amount of money - most of it from out of state - to get a high percentage of the commiecrats - the inner city folks and the poor in the Valley - to the voting booth. Wealthy commies like Beto support socialism because they don't expect to suffer under it. They expect to be in charge and enjoy all the benefits of being rich while the peons do all the suffering.

If people from CA would quit moving here we’d be a lot better off.

RE: Gun restrictions; google Texas HB238 86th legislature and contact your representative to support it.

We need to refuse the dooshy ones that’s for sure.

I’m sure someone’s spreadsheet has me in the dooshy Californian category...so let’s just keep telling everyone that Texas is closed

With huge cities like Dallas, Houston, SA, and not as big Austin. I think it is inevitable. Hell, Beto took Tarrant Co. fluke or no fluke. Then we have the cluster of border cities too to add. Will we see major 2A restrictions. Probably not for awhile. Who to blame? Lots of blame to go around but people moving from CA or the eastern states to here for the reasons you mentioned sure don't help.

Basically, like CA, the bums in the hood and their liberal buddies take over the Gov.
New Dallas DA has stated he won't prosecute 'minor' drug deals yet the # of crimes and auto deaths is increasing like Co. & Wa. Just look the other way and let the citizens take care of themselves.

From observing this trend for 50 years, which picked up speed in Texas in the early 70's, it is unarguable that anywhere the urban/suburban population exceeds the rural, the transition from red, to purple, to eventually blue is in full swing. Why? In nutshell: public education systems.

To reverse it you'd have to take back public education, all the way through university.

    Good luck with that.

One way we could slow it down is to not allow Texas political campaigns to be financed from special interests outside Texas, which happened in the most egregious manner to date with Beto.

That $80m+ is still poisoning the conservative well we must have to stay even purple.
