I have yet to find a synthetic gas engine oil with the T6 additive for my ATV. Some use Rotella with T6 made for diesel engines in theirs but have no idea of long term effects, if any. I am not good on puters so I may not be finding such an oil if there is one. Anyone know?

T6 is a marketing trademark name for a proprietary additive /product offering from shell
No other company but Shell has the right to use that name
T6 is like Techron is to Chevron

I thought it was just a product name... Like Rotella T, T4, T5 and T6.

If the ATV specifies to use T6, then there wouldn't be any issue in using it. Rotella T6 is good stuff. It's viscosity is good for a wide range of engines, it has a high HTHS, and it has more anti-wear additives than other oils at it's price point. Don't let the fact that it's a "diesel oil" throw you off...

Rotella T6 has an additive package, "T6" is the designation Shell uses to denote "full" synthetic. E,g., T5 is their synthetic blend. I use T6 in my bikes, car and truck without problems. Unless there is something is very wrong, you won't be burning the oil - just putting it in, getting it dirty, then replacing it.

I think it was an ATV mechanic that told me T6 is the additive to extend life of the wet clutch and not to use regular oil so Rotella T6 was my choice.
I thank you all for the replies!

Ah, wet clutch... yeah any motorcycle oil should be fine. Rotella T6 does seems to be popular with owners of motorcycles with wet clutches, but it's not specifically made for such. I use it in my motorcycle, but it has a dry clutch, not a wet one.
