I have a solar inverter with 2000 W battery and I'd like to set up a power switch box to shut the grid power off and allow this inverter to power my in-house panel (which is everything except the HVAC and clothes dryer). I had a switch box like this for a gas generator in my previous home. It safely allows you to use the backup or supplemental power without danger of backfeed. I would be getting some solar panels and installing on the roof to charge the inverter battery during the day as well as powering my stuff. Even just having selected circuits isolated would be great - like the fridge and office and living room for example.... so anybody here able to help with this or know a trustworthy electrician? I know it will cost several hundred $$ for the work... probably an hour - 1 1/2 hour job.
