    Gunz are icky.
Been perusing the on-line gun sale websites this A.M.

Sure does seem to be a lot of Glock 26 pistols up for sale.
Just about all of them in very new condition.

    What gives?
Are they junkers? Unpleasant to fire? Jam-O-Matic's?

    Just curious.

People trying to unload them and replace them with the latest gen?

That's the thing tho. These all seem to be very recent guns. Some of them can't be fired much.
Since I'm not a Glock guy the Gen whatever thing eludes me. Do the earlier guns not work as well?

For a sub-compact, the Glock 26 is a pretty good gun. I believe the 4th gen ones had issues out of the box along with the rest of the 9mm Gen 4 line. The release of the 4th generation was not Glock's finest hour though they did work the kinks out of eventually.

My guess is the same as Kar98's, selling to upgrade to either the Gen 5 or move to a different platform.

For the longest, Gaston Glock caught hell because others had a skinny compact while Glock held on to the fat 26. I carried a 26 for a couple of years. It's an ok pistol. It's just a fat pistol to wear inside the waist band. Not really compact. More like a short grip/barrel 19.

Then Glock plays catch up and produces the 42 and 43. Half the size and half the weight. Makes the 24 look like a brick.

Now Smith&Wesson catches up more with their new super tiny Shield. Half the size of the previous Shield.

Long long ago in a galaxy far far away the Moonpie had a 27.
A solid reliable pistol. But like you say it was really bulky to carry.

Which model are you talking about? The Gen 1 and 2 Shields are the same size.

The first I saw it. It was at a local shop. Same looking size as the 42. Not the usual compact shield but smaller.

    I believe it's called a "M&P 9c".

The grip in the picture looks longer then the one I saw.

    Ah was it this one?

    https://www.smith-wesson.com/firearms/mp-bodyguard-380

The 9c is double stack and falls between the G19 and G26 in size.

The one I saw had teal colored plastic. This was a single stack. From a distance, it looked just like the Glock until you got close to it and seen it was a Smith. It was tiny-tiny. Might have been a 380 but I swear it was different then in that link.

    You sure it wasn't a Bodyguard or M&P ..380ACP?

My EDC is a Glock 26, Gen 4. Suits me fine. Shoots fine.

I LOVE the flexibility of being about to put any double stack Glock 9mm mag in it.

    I carry a 17 round extra mag.

So, my EDC is easy one gun, extra mag: 28 rounds total.

Never carried mine on my hip so I cant say, but I have a 27 on me right now. I pocket carry mine and the liberal Moms surrounding me at the library are none the wiser. ;)

That's what so puzzling about it. Why so many for sale?

I don't know how you people pocket carry these things. Pocket carrying anything larger than the Kahr CM9 I had felt like I was carrying a brick.

I can stick a full-sized P99 into my pockets, nobody would notice it and it'd be quite comfortable all day. It's just getting it back out in a hurry that would present a problem.

Same reason why I sold a perfectly good Mod 2 .45 for an XDS .45

I have a 26 that I carry regularly. No issues with it, and its accurate enough.

I pocket carry mine too using an Uncle Dans pocket holster.
