Steel case leaves a filthy mess.
On firing brass cases expand slightly to seal the chamber. As the chamber pressures drop the case contract allowing extraction.
Steel cases do not expand. Powder residue gets blown back along the case back into the bolt area.
Very light loads in brass (cowboy fart level loads for example) does the same thing.

I hear people say even the Monarch brass is dirty.

    Not where you are
Shot lots pf Monarch steel and brass .40 .45 .357.
Yes the steel is dirtier just means you clean your gun better.
The brass is not as bad as far as dirty.

The steel does “stick” in my wheel gun but Ive never needed a mallet to remove it just a little more effort is all. Even in my 357 BA rifle it has no issues.

Accurate as most any mass produced ammo.

No, I don't. Like I said, I've never had this issue before.

Where in TX are you located? Someone nearby might have good calipers that you could use to measure the casings.
Could be a bad batch of ammo, could be that your gun just plain doesn't like lacquered casings.

San Angelo area. But I honestly think that it's probably an issue relating to the age of the gun. It's an old SAA Peacemaker, and even the ACP cylinder for it was made long before steel case ammo was even a thing. I think it's just going to be a matter of getting some brass case for it, and everything should be good. Or even get some .45 LC and pop the other cylinder in it. The LC is more expensive (may as well stuff dollar bills in the cylinder) but it would be nice to have.
