jcrntx - Ruger scope mounts

Ruger has their own proprietary integral scope mounts machined into the receivers of their center fire rifles and some of their revolvers that require a specific style Ruger scope ring. I don't know if anyone makes an after market ring but there are rails that will fit the mounts. 20 - 25 years ago a model of the Mini 14 came with the mount and another model did not and I can't recall then names. One of course was the Ranch Rifle and the model that did not have the mounts had better sights and there was a side mount available like that guy had. The firearms that have those mounts come with the rings included and it seems all the rifles in the Mini 14 family come with the mounts currently. Sorry I couldn't explain it better earlier.
