I'd love to say 'it's not personal', , but the e-mail info below hits 'home' . We have worked hard to to pay for a private school for our son who has a 'learning difference'. At school in his first grade class he sits next to 3 children who's parents pay nothing they're on 'scholarships' from Honduras and Korea! Funny though all 3 sets of parents drive Range Rovers and live in a higher rent district than we do - go figure!?
Were not alone, because these supposed underprivileged children crowding all our schools, tuition is going up next year in every private school in our district and taxes are going up to pay for public schools. So, next year (because of the expense) we'll go to a public school with our 'challenges' while the ' waiting for my Visa's' enjoy smaller classrooms, higher educated and better paid teachers, the arts, music and all paid for field trips to the museum, symphony, fair and state capitol. The only thing we'll pay immediately is higher taxes!!!
BTW: one of my dearest friends is from San Salvador...I would trust her with my kids lives and enjoy a social lunch with her once a month. She came to Texas 17 years ago. got her ss card, worked, paid taxes, got her American citizenship and raised 2 children to work hard and not 'game' the system.
