I have a very good friend that worked for the CDC for 30+ years until mid 2021. He has more degrees in microbiology, diseases, virology, etc than I can pronounce correctly. Fortunately, he also has a degree in common sense as he told me he resigned due to the wokeness infesting the CDC.
Lots of departments had their budgets cut in order to bring in more DEI managers and other such types.
