That 10mm is a damn BEAST with my Hornady XTP rounds.
Images of both rifle and pistol.
This new photo uploading thing sucks, the old site design was better. For now this is all I can post despite having a crap ton of photos but they are all over 5 MB and won't let me upload that size. I'm no photo guru and they are already in .jpeg format.
I had the 45-70 out today, finally got it dialed in for hunting season. Needs a lead sled for a few minor adjustments but it will hit a hog easy at the 100.
We were shooting shotgun casings from way the hell back, I was surprised at how accurate the 10mm is for something that small. I guess I shouldn't be, its a 10mm after all. His 9mm was smoking shit too, those things were so tiny we had the front sight post covering the target and had to lead the bullet as we saw where they were landing.
That 180gr 10mm was so powerful, I thought he was shooting +P! We had to stop for a min. Then when I saw they go up to 200gr, I knew he was good to go.
I think I see why 10mm is gaining popularity now. In hindsight, I understand that bull barrel now too. Yea - I may wind up going 10mm next instead of 45. Thats one bad round!
Did some research, those regular 10mm loads were too light for the gun, that's why the Hornady locked back when I shot them. People also said it's a mag problem and after about 200-500 rounds it starts to function normally. I was recommended to get Wilson Tactical mags, they work with no break in and no issues at all. Unfortunately they are out of mags at the moment for 10mm. Once they get them in I will order 3 of them even if they are 36 dollars each. They don't have that stupid bent ramp on them and look like my .45 mags as they should. I could fix it I suppose but it isn't enough of an annoyance. Bottom line, shoot magnum level loads that the 10mm was made for.
Thats just one bad gun, and everything that goes with it better be able to keep up or get out.
