    Gunz are icky.
Robert1024 and that ne'er do well Moonpie are going to Lone Star range on Sunday June 5th.
9:00a.m. until time to go get BBQ.
Note: that BBQ in Lockhart is some dangerous stuff!

Bringing some 9mm 1911's, carbines, and revolver if anyone wants to try them you're more than welcome.
Will bring a cap&ball revolver too if anyone's interested.

Hope y'all can make it out to the range.

    Greetings fellow gun people,

I'm a noob to not only this forum, and I was wondering if there is some sort of initiation process prior to hanging with the cool kids on the block? I've taken a short breather from gun (new job to buy new guns/reloading equiptment...), so it'd be nice to have a network of fellow enthusiast.

    Thanks,
    Ray

No initiation, just head over to the introductions and introduce yourself. If you can make it to Moonpies get together, by all means, go. Great way to get to meet some great folks.
Wish I could. Going to be fun.

    Great, thanks!

Hopefully no unexpected issues will come up from now until then!

I just got my grubby little mitts on a new Dan Wesson Discretion (.45ACP) that I've been itch'n to run. Only shot a few mags before it got too dark last night.

I'll also bring an XDM 5.25 9mm, 1911 9mm, and an AR build of that needs to be broken/sighted in. Y'all are more than welcome to give em a test run.

It's a public range. Just show up and don't be a dick ;)

Yeah how bad is it? Looks like it's going to keep raining all week...

Pretty hard to be a dick (no pun intended) when you're having fun! :machine:
I had a year pass last year before I fell off the gun grid. That being said, I won't be the douche waiving guns around breaking every protocol on the list. I also won't be the guy talking down on ANYONE's guns. Different strokes for different folks.:)

Oh yeah... That's right. I almost forgot how heavy my boots got after/during a good down pour.
    Thanks for the reminder.

They says 40% chance, so I'll bet that it'll either drizzle or it'll be short burst of heavy rain. Either way... if I'm free; I'm going. Guns don't melt in the water. We all clean and lube them after a shooting session anyways. Right?... ;)

Raining while shooting isn't the concern. The line is covered anyways... I'm more worried about flooding/standing water.

I'd like to go but not sure if I will yet or not. Maybe I'll give them a ring Sat evening to see how it's looking.

Ain't afeared. A little rain never hurt anyone.
When I was over there in Sunny France back in 1918 weather like todays would've been considered nice.
Will bring the 1903 Springfield and 1897 Trench gun just to show'em!. Damn Boche.
Maybe should I bring the Chauchat?

Meh - not too bad. Ranges are covered. Some of my best TGT meets have been in pouring rain. I'll load you up with some .357 mags on a couple of guns and you won't care.

Good morning y'all. So, I decided to check the weather as I'm drinking my morning brew. What the heck happened last night?! I just drove to Houston and back yesterday for a graduation and it didn't seem like the world was going to end or anything. The weather articles were talking about soldiers in fort hood that were killed by the flooding, missing people, missing children, tornadoes, and other horrible events. Friday at the office doesn't quite feel like Friday anymore :(.

Sunday is suppose to be dry... Hopefully we won't literally have to bring our waders. Because I damn sure will...
