Just wanted to try my hand on something functional but inexpensive before My Texas lower build. Honest, how bad?

Nice job on the color fill. Plan on doing that to my texas lower. Is it as easy as they make it look on youtube?

Satisfying, isn't it? Good job - now, how does she shoot? That'll tell you how good or bad.

The paint job - meh. It's always appeared overly flashy to me.

Kicking myself I missed out on the TX lowers. I bet it would look good with the color fill. That looks well done.

Now go out and get it dirty!

Nice job! I agree-the true test will be at the range. Everything we're seeing is just cosmetic. The gas and bolt system is what really matters. I'm crossing my fingers for ya!

Got to take the first build to shoot today. Absolutely shitty weather here and wife wanted Carls Jr burger, so I comprimised and we went to Reds in Pfluegerville. Mounted a scope and bipod last night. All set up, ran the target down to 50 yards, took aim and CLICK. Checked the magazine, reloaded and CLICK.
Locked the bolt back, rechecked everything. Seemed ok. Retry.
Ok, here is where you get to laugh. Freakin magazine was not seated all the way. FELT LIKE A DUMASS!
Went BANG for the next hundred rounds. Felt so good. 3 inch group at 100 yards. not bad for a wore out ol' fogey with a cheap Barska scope.when I took my time at 75 it shot 1 inch groups. Safe to say I am hooked.
