The amount of individuals posting about moving here from everywhere else is insane, mainly California though. So here’s a few examples of frustrations I have. I keep seeing how they are here for freedom, rights and cheaper prices. However, you move here and Immediately offer over asking on property like this is California, it’s not. That practice didn’t even exist until you guessed it, y’all came here in droves a couple years ago. We actually used to could offer less and get it, imagine that. Thanks for not changing that. In turn prices went up and no it’s not great for us, quit saying that shit, unlike y’all we were happy living where we were. Prices are up and now our children will never be able to afford a house where they where born. Thanks for that. Fun fact, my parents bought a 3/2 in Katy the year before I was born in 1988 for $30,000. I bought my first house at the age of 23 for 119,900, 9 years later it’s worth $360,000. Taxes went from $1,700 to $5,500, Thanks for that. Also when you rear end someone, another fun fact the area off the right side of the road is a shoulder, pull over there. Do not stop in the middle of the fast lane, or any lane and get out to have a Im sorry I can’t drive conversation. Who does that shit? Far left lanes are for passing and not driving 15 under the speed limit like a jerk off. Also If my bikes or truck is to loud for you, good. It’s so morons can hear me coming cuz they damn sure don’t look. Trucks pull trailers with weight that can’t stop on a dime because your dumbass cuts me off. I have plenty of customers from California that have been here for 20 plus years that aren’t happy with the blessing of all the others presence. Here’s a thought, fix the mess y’all created in y’all’s state. Quit voting for incompetent people, stand up and defend yourself. If you can’t even do that do you really expect me to believe your going to bat for us. I’ll answer, that’s a NO. You chose to run, I don’t where they do that but it damn sure ain’t in Texas. Once again If you don’t agree with me, great. I’m a factual person and believe in my rights and freedoms. I flat out refuse to lay down and be overrun because of fear of what others might say or think based on my thoughts. I don’t give a shit what anyone thinks of me and furthermore could care less about your feelings, dumbest shit ever. This is rants and raves, so here’s a couple of mine. Also for everyone wondering why are communities are going to shit. It’s called gentrification, they are overrunning everything and tearing down shit neighborhoods to build condos and houses. In turn guess where those people from those shit neighborhoods go, yup further out to places they never did. Hints to why more cars and houses are being broken into. So thank you for moving here and changing nothing, I can really see how well y’all are at staying true to that. Handshakes mean something to me as does your word.

Place across the road has been split up and sold off.
That last 30 acres that ain't sold kinda caught my interest.
$90,000 dollars. **** that. It would have been $9,000 a few years ago.

So I get some neighbors soon. Who better like the sound of gunfire.

    Yep. This is BFE.
We're screwed if not for Ag exemptions.

It’s sad man. I hate that for you. I finally got to a point I could afford land and just can’t bring my self to be robbed like that.

My rant...Most Californians come here because they say they want the freedom Texas has, then they start with their California mentality of telling us how things were better in California!

Personally, I wished the vast majority of them would just stay there.
I told my woman the same thing, starts out small and then It all comes out.

I agree. It’s also society in general though. Texas is at least trying to slow down the retardation and that I respect. It’s still a sad thing to see a billboard that says don’t allow kids to be trans or something. Never in my life would I thought I would see anyone open to the idea of allowing kids to have sex changes or be encouraged to act gay. You can see it south bound I-45 to Corsicana. Shouldn’t even be a debate.

If I could afford to live in Ellis county I would. Those folks got fisted in property tax. No lube. I agree to all your points about pricing. I’m still hoping some rich Californian will buy my lot so he can “live in the country” and be near Dallas.

I’ll say this about Texas: it got me into baseball.

Baseball is fun. My son (7) is playing and it’s fun to learn the sport with him. Even a kids game can be really fun to watch. Even better going to a rangers game and pounding some beers by the dugout.

I grew up playing baseball and agree, definitely a awesome experience and can’t wait for my 7 month old to be old enough to play. I’m a born and raised Texan as is my son. I have already bought him his first shotgun, a 410 same as I got (although his is much nicer, he got the saiga) when I was little. I look forward to teaching him that as well. I now have the decision on what’s next, hints my rant on prices. I currently live in a subdivision and can’t stomach the thought of him growing up on a street with 20 plus houses full of complete strangers that constantly changes. Also the agenda you mentioned of children picking their gender or gay ideology being pushed on them. Crazy time’s that will never make sense to me. I’m only 33 but already can’t conform to the woke crap being crammed down our throats. The idea of me being labeled a racist, bigot homophobe because I refuse to be a follower doesn’t sit well with me.

We just paid about $20k below asking for a house because it needs work. Work that my father and I are happy to do. People who pay over asking have more money than sense, and they are the kind of people who are screwing things up all across the nation. The kind of people who think throwing money at a problem makes it go away. These may also be the people voting blue and poisoning the rest of this country with the trash they voted for in the cesspits they "escaped" from. Every liberal, socialist, triggered, spoon fed moron should stay where they are and reap the "benefits" of what they created.

That said, outside of the major cities (like LA, Sac, SanFran) there are a lot of red blooded Conservative Americans who consistently vote against the stupidity that seems to be taking over that state. Some even get into real fights over it. California made "vote by mail" permanently legal, because somehow it's guaranteed against fraud and any dissenting opinion is racist. We recalled Governor NewScum and he miraculously brushed it off and continues to rule over his serfs. The war in the PRK is over and lost. I'm not staying there.

I didn't get to pick where I was born and where I grew up. I do, however, get to pick where my future children will and I refuse to have them indoctrinated by a school system that thinks I'm evil because I won't use "custom pronouns."

If you don't want a red blooded, conservatve, 2A loving, God fearing, red meat eating constitutionalist helping hold your line just because of where I was born, that's fine. Go ahead and tell me to go back and fight a losing battle behind enemy lines. That's your right.

It's also my right to say no, and to tell you to make sure you're not standing out past my muzzle while I take (figurative) aim at the true enemy that we are fighting against as Real Americans.

Ya I hear you and as you stated we are both entitled our own opinions and beliefs. I’m speaking on what is happening around me and my experiences. Are you the 1 in a thousand? Could be, I don’t know you so it’s all speculation at that point. Am I seeing more bad then good? Absolutely. I only call it as I see it and that’s that. If I strike a nerve based on facts I witness on a day to day, so be it. I always enjoy good conversation with like minded individuals no matter where they are from. However my stance is my stance and I’ll never apologize for being me. You can be a farmer who grows crops and have terrible turn out due to bad weather, which would be outta one’s control. This could happen multiple years in a row but it’s something you believe in and were born to do. Do you pack up and quit because it’s a loosing battle? I was raised to hold my own and weather the storm no matter what but that’s me. The damage is done as of now and one could only hope for damage control at this point.

Born in Oklahoma, (my family was among the "300" with Austin who founded Texas), lived 53 years in California, moved to Texas 12 years ago. California moved away from me, I'm conservative, 2a advocate, and like most types of guns. Paid asking price (after leasing for 8 months) when I moved here. $350,000, large house on 40+ acres. Zillow now values it at $750,000 and I expect taxes will go up. Rant all you want about Liberals who created the cesspool that California has become, but there are lots of conservatives there that just can't stand what is happening, and realize that the Demonrats perfected stealing elections in Ca, and in 2020 took it national.

It's not all or everyone from California, but it does seem like the majority of them state the same thing. They want freedom, their gun rights back, free from the cesspool California has become etc. etc. and so on, but most sooner or later want what they think are the good things of California here in Texas.

You may be one of the minorities that really wants to embrace the lifestyle and culture of Texas, and if that is honestly so, then welcome to the fight!

But in my short time here, I have seen more than a few California transplants flame out and get banned on this forum. And good riddance to them! They started out saying much of the same as you, but resorted back to California mentality later on.

I too wasn't born in Texas, but most of my family was, and I have made it my home for most of my life. I have seen many changes in my life in Texas, that I don't like. It may never get back to what it was when my father was growing up, or when my grandparents were alive, but I sure as hell don't want what California is or will become.

Texans are known for being who they are, welcoming, but outspoken, and not afraid to voice an opinion or displeasure at the things they see. I'll not apologize for having an opinion, or speaking that opinion either.
