Does anyone know why your AR should have or hopefully already has a chrome plated bore and chamber? Yes..? Incidentally, your old, foreign AK probably already has it. Just fyi...

You say just FYI but give very little info. So why not share your knowledge on this.

As for me no, I do not know why my AR should have a chrome lined bore so please enlighten me. I suspect AKs might have them (as well as SKSs) because it was due to use of corrosive ammo by combloc countries but that is merely my guess.

    Sucky topic

I find it a rather interesting topic especially in as much as it is firearms related on an apparent practical level that is if the OP actually hasknowledge of the topic. A reply like yours has nothing of value to add to the discussion. Talk about "sucky", your reply seems to perfect the concept.

It's a throw away topic with a bad title. It's poorly written first post neither has a point or asks a real question. It refers to my AR yet he has no idea anything about my AR. Then without telling me anything, it's punctuated by telling me the post was an FYI. You yourself seem confused by the OP telling us nothing then saying the post was FYI. Could it be an interesting topic? Sure. It needs to have a point AND have valuable replies. Right now it has neither.

Because it’s better than having an untreated barrel. Anything is better; meloniting or nitriding.

It can help increase barrel life along with not getting your barrel hot and doing mag dumps to pass on to your kid. It’s a 0.2240
hole. It’s naturally going to be higher pressure.

Now, wear of the lands vs wear of the throat is from different factors such as doodoo steel cased Ukrainian powder vs federal.
