I do remember that. They were called Z97 and then changed to Eagle 97, but I don't recall exactly when they changed. Way too many years ago! I do remember Q102, but the only time I could pick them up is when I got closer to Dallas.

It was 82 or 83 I think. Maybe even 84.

Sounds about right. I graduated in 1981! I just remember about that time during high school, that it once was Z97, and then changed to Eagle 97. I even had an Eagle 97 decal on my Trans Am on the back window!

From what I read, he started the Dr. Demento show in 1974 and the show was syndicated in 1978. So it was broadcast pretty much nationwide by the late 1970's.
