What do you find is the best way to keep your gun safe dry?

I have been using those little desiccant packs but they fill up in a couple of weeks and then need to be recharged.

I don't have any power in the save so I cannot use one of the electric dehumidifiers.

    Does anyone have any recommendations?

I don't worry about humidity in an air-conditioned or heated space.

Keep your firearms well-oiled, and periodically open the safe to let fresh air in and stale air out.

I tend to think dehumidifiers are a gimmick.

20+ years in and out of the safe, and no rust.

    Be well.

Dehumidifiers work well. I know some guys with guns that are worth more than my house and they use some of the battery powered dehumidifiers (they put more than one in each safe, but the safes are not in a climate controlled area) They work well and guns have ZERO rust. Inside the house where my safe is, I use nada.

I have had minor rust issues in my safe in my house. With my new safe, I drilled a hole in it and ran power for a Golden Rod (or whatever the one from Wally World is called). No issues since, but I hear a light bulb burning in the safe works well also.

Mine had a knock out plug in the lower right corner to put the goldenrod cord through. Not in a climate controlled area, no rust issues.
