Bought it certified in WI with ~24,000 miles for ~$26,000.00. Has 109,000 miles now and looks great/runs great. Upholstery and interior is A-. Was going to trade it in for new to go with the new job. Heck with it. If I need to tote customers or VIPs, I’ll use my bride’s fancy SUV. Otherwise, I’m shooting for 300K. I think I’ll make it a mission. At what I expect to be 30k/year, with no car payments for ~6-1/2 years, I’m feeling pretty good.

I have a 2007 Honda Civic I bought new. I drove the dog sh*t out of that car until I retired 3 years ago. My son the college student has been driving it since. It has 330,000 miles on it, original engine and transmission. Neither have been rebuilt. Follow the factory maintenance schedule as it were the gospel and your Honda will give you many years of reliable service.

    Gunz are icky.
Been very happy with my 2011 Toyota RAV4. 280.000 miles it. Still runs well.
She’s showing her age but I will keep using it until the wheels fall off.
New vehicle prices are insane. Plus I need a beater car to haul the dogs around or go fishing. Not using the good car for that.
Besides I hear the used car market is fixing to crash.

I avoided the early 2000 Hondas, but by 2003-4 they were as bulletproof as the ones from the late 90s.

You should easily get 300k out of your Pilot.

I have a 2002 Tahoe. A buddy is a mechanic and told me the V-8 engines on 2000-2004 Chevy trucks, etc were the best Chevy ever made. He said the car will fall apart around you before the engine dies. And 500k miles is routine for that motor. He’s heard of appx 700k miles before engine failure.

I took it as a personal challenge. I currently have appx 375k miles with no signs of stopping. I’m driving it till it dies.

Only work I’ve done is rebuild on the tranny, 2 water pumps and an alternator.

Would it help/hurt to switch to synthetic oil?
