Ok I saw one checked out the serial number against a database that said it was the latest generation of it. I had read all of the good and bad points about them and figured I had the money and it was there. I had also read everything about the ammo that would and would not feed and made sure I bought the Winchester super X 40 grain and went out to the range figuring that I was either going to have a lot of fun or I already had a buyer for it.

I wound up having a ton of fun, no jams, no misfires, had to work the magazines a little to ensure that they would get 30 rounds into them. The dang thing kept a grouping that you could circle with your thumb and index finger and fired fast and without a lot of recoil which with the weight surprised me. That was from 10 feet, 20 feet, and then 50 feet with minimum amount of the grouping expanding.

No I don't recommend it for self defense although for someone like my wife who is recoil resistant, I am chuckling since she would dump the entire mag down through the house at an intruder throw in a second and third mag, and keep right on firing, with the noise and flash coming out of the end if she didn't kill them they would still be running 24 hours later.

Wondering what the other comments will be since I bought this simply for something fun to play with. I have a SAR K2 in .45 for my carry gun which is a whole other conversation.

I had one a few years ago. I only had reliable feeding with CCI and Federal ammo. Winchester was just to dirty to run good in mine. It did group great I remember. Lots of flash.

As far as considering it for a defensive purpose speaking about rimfires here, I would say a better option would be a folding 10/22 in .22lr. With something like a 40 grain solid or a 40 grain. CCI velocitor I'd be willing to be it would perform better than anything coming out of that 4.5 inch kel-tec and much quieter.

All that said I know you said it's for fun. That they are. I hope to replace it with a FN 5.7 one day. Same concept just better.

I want one of these now that I moved to a free state... just no point in it if neutered to 15 rounds...

For a while they may have been de facto banned in CO, I'm not sure anyone made 15 round mags in 2013

I have one and really like it as well. Much nicer firearm than your typical Keltec stuff. The trigger on it is actually really good. Love that you have 30rds in the palm of your hand, too... I've only ever ran Fiocchi through it as I bought a ton of it on sale several years ago.
