Basically makes a knife over 5.5" a location restricted knife and makes it restricted in more places than a handgun. Doesn't do a damn thing with those changes.

As as I am reading it, it makes all knives previously listed as illegal restricted location knives and makes it a criminal offense if under 18 and in possession off your property unless supervised by a parent or legal guardian. That is the true poison pill on this.

It is more restrictive than 46.13. Under 46.13 I can take my 11 year old niece to the range and let her shoot any gun I own, I can take her hunting and let her shoot any gun I own. I can not let her use a restricted location knife.

Dems making amendments... getting into the bill...

Did I read that right? Under 18 years old can't even carry a pocket knife?!?!?!?!

I didn't get that understanding. Seems they're changing what used to be called an "illegal knife" to be called a "location restricted knife".
So, under 18, can't carry an illegal knife/location restricted knife anywhere.

And who would make that judgement? Who wants their kid to be the test case?

With the amendments it is bad law. Worse than what is already on the books.

    Kill it.

    Not what the article says.

"As amended, HB 1935 also would make it illegal for anyone under age 18 to carry a knife except at home, in a vehicle or under the direct supervision of a parent or guardian."

    This says NO knife. Stupid.

I have carried a knife since I was knee high to a grasshopper.

Bill changed due to someone being killed by a knife in Austin.

Well, someone has been killed by a car in Austin. Going to ban cars? Ditto for baseball bats, crowbars, etc.

Knee jerk reaction to fulfill liberal desires, Republicans don't have enough hair on their chest to stand up. Disgusting.

Your kid goes camping with his uncle and aunt. Has machete, and is clearing brush around campsite with your brother or sister right there. It is now a crime if this passes.
