kydex 1911 grips

so i got a bright idea to try and make 1911 grips out of a sheet of kydex...

so far.. so good?

Nice job. Is this to make the grip thinner?

Seems like it might make the gun hard to hold on to with sweary hands or rain. I switched to packmyers for that reason.
Let us know how it works out.

theres gonna be strips of grip tape on the kydex as well.

Sounds like a cool idea. I wonder, if it works, if you could mould some sort of pattern or design into them by placing something underneath it, heating it and pressing it.?? Neat project.
