I find the interesting part of story is TSA did not find gun on outbound leg, and Mexico Customs did not find it on inbound leg.

It is not illegal to put a gun on a private plane w/o formality. The “other end” is where problems are. Indeed, the self-embarrassed Texas legislature had to undo one of their state laws years back, as it conflicted w/ federal law, FAA Policy, & international Treaties.
