Has anyone used one of these, They claim to be the new alternative to night vision, I doubt they can give the results of a high end night vision scope but that is also way out of my price range. So how well can you see with one and at what range.

Think of it as a tightly focused beam of light which is exactly what it is. It's not nightvision because it's active and not passive. That is to say Your target can see you. If that does not matter it's kind of a cool scope. Or you can buy a q-beam for $30.00

I tried out a NDS-3 on a friends rifle. They do work quite well. If you adjust the focus of the beam to perfectly fill the scope, it does look like high end night vision when looking through the scope. Just remember that you're shining a giant green laser pointer down range, lol... Everything can see the "dot".

I own and use one. Works well. I have used it up to 200 yards with good results. The downside as mentioned above is that everyone and every thing up to a mile away will know exactly where you are. When you tighten the beam up to use it at longer distances the beam is visible in the air.
