3,909,502 background checks sounds like a lot. But that is just what went through NCIS. That doesn't count the people with carry permits nor private sales. The real number is probably close to double what they are reporting.
Yes but the significance is the new gun owners, not so much the one with 6 that got #7 or decided her S&W 500 was too small and needed something more substantial.

How many of the 3,909,502 were new gun owners? I missed those numbers, my ad blocker kept me from reading the entire article.

I don’t believe there’s any way of getting that data...?

It’s not tracked, so i think it would be more of a poll number where folks are asked after the purchase...?

Guns in general are available along with ammo, just pricey.

    Not really for LGS's.....

On Distributors websites (any of them) I click hand guns....2036 options pop up....

I click on..... in stock only.........24 options appear.......

the 24 options are Les Bear, Wilson Combat 45's all 1800.00 and up......or Volquartsen 22's 800.00 and up...... and some S&W 500's are available....and forget about any handgun ammo showing up on the distributors websites....every round is allocated.........

It's been that way for weeks now...........

I bought 500 rounds of Federal 9mm yesterday.

High Line Firearms in Oregon is selling Delton AR's for $563.00

Is a Delton a high end firearm?

No, but will get the job done.

If you do some research you'll find guns and ammo available.

You want me to buy retail?

How long have you been in business?

What makes you think I'm not doing any research?

Which wholesale distributors that you buy from have anything in stock?

Cablea's was sparse a few weeks ago on the more common handguns and AR types. same with common ammo like 22, 223, 45 and 9.

Academy this week was the same. Limits on ammo to 3 boxes on 223, 9 and 45. Had enough 'hunting' rounds but that was about it.

Some online ammo stores are very sparse. Zero 300 blackout, 38 sp, 357...everything they do have in stock is the pricey stuff. Just for grins I like to review past orders and mourn the good 'ole days. :)

Seen it first with the virus (eye roll) then a follow up with the riots I suppose.

    crazy times.

Just got back from Branson and was surprised to see so many firearms in stock at Bass Pro. No ammo though.

I need more 556, specifically m193. It’s my go to round, I have m855 ball on hand. I just don’t want to zero the rifle for it.

Well, it may not count folks in Texas who have a LTC but in states like NY it sure counts the folks up there because you need to have a NICS check done to buy a gun from a dealer or to do a private sale which thus must go through a dealer. NYistan and the incubus emperor Cuomo try to suck your rights directly out of your soul.
