It'd be great to find a good gun belt, "real leather" for only $50 to $60. :D Even to find just a regular "real leather" belt for that.

BTW, I have plenty of regular belts, and you won't get "leather" for less than $50-$60. For $10 or $30 or $40 and even many $50+ belts you get imported fiber impregnated crap that works fine as as a basic belt to hold pants up for a while. You won't get top quality leather or even close to it. I"m really easy on belts, and have several I use so usually not one gets all the use, and none will properly support a gun. They'll work OK, but nothing like they should.

It's like 95% of cars that claim to have "leather" seating. The "seating" part only uses leather fiber impregnated vinyl. Even in BMW, MB etc. you won't find real leather until you get to the higher end cars or pay a premium for it. MB even had/has their own textile called MB Tex that's great, but not leather. But it lasted for ever and was comfortable.

I've had an El Paso Saddlery ranger belt for 30 plus years. Still works.

    Let's see. 60/30=$2.00 a year. Yep I can afford that. Hell I can afford $4.00 a year.

BTW there are few makers who do ranger belts correctly. El Paso is one of them. It has to do with the way the buckle attaches. Their leather does not go through the billet but folds back like a conventional belt. This is stronger and will last longer.

I just ordered a 1 3/4" Double Layer Bullhide Belt w/stiffeners from thebeltman.net. I have not had good luck thus far with cheap belts (or have just not made the right choice in cheap belts). I decided to go ahead and get a real gun belt. I also wanted one that could sustain a little weight should I opt to go heels with one of my heftier pistols.

What the hell are you gonna carry? A .50Cal on each hip?

I know how well my 1 1/2 w/o a stiffener carries, yours should be able to carry a car! :D

:D Good to know that it will work should I decide to tote the Desert Eagle around. (And I only have one, so I can't do the Resident Evil thing).

I am not easy on belts for some reason. I'm not overweight, in fact I'm in fairly decent shape. I do carry a Beretta 92FS as a CCW, but I can't find a good inexpensive belt that will last. I keep just shredding them. That's an important part of my gear, so I decided to got ahead and spend the money on a good one. I think this one will do the trick!

Just got my 1 1/2" from thebeltman today and I must I'm very impressed. I got it to replace my Galco as it's getting a little tight. :o The craftsmanship on this thing is soooo much better, feels like it'll last a lifetime, got it on now and goes great with my VMII/P2000SK.
