After seeing how my own sister acted with my fathers estate & the same with friends on their inheritance I would tell family members to go pound sand unless they had my asking price for my inventoried goods!

Death brings out the worst in some people. I too have seen in our own family, and with the families of friends. It's sort of embarrassing and shameful.

You are correct. Born in the U.P. of Michigan, but raised here in the Great State of Texas.

Thank you all for the responses. I just wanted to verify that I could legally lend them something. Even before this all started, I've encouraged them to get at least a shotgun. Maybe now this will make them really consider doing so (and as we all know, you get one....they tend to multiply).

The UP is a great place to be from. I watch "Joe Pera talk's to you" just to see the outside scenes of Marquette. My wife spent many summers in Eagle Harbor.

    Somewhere in Texas!
I recently gifted to my childhood friend a Ruger 10/22 Takedown. As kids we spent many enjoyable hours at his family's place roaming about. I had my dads semi-auto .22 he had his dads single shot .22. He always wanted one as a kid, we can both afford them now, but as a sign of our enduring friendship of 40+ years I gave him one plus 500 rounds of .22 for his shooting pleasure.
