letter to renew..already!?

I recieved a letter from DPS stating I can start the process of renewing my CHL now online. My license does not expire until April 2010. Is this to cut down on time it will take Austin to do the paper work? Should I actually do it now or will i be stuck with an expired license if I wait due to the back log?

DPS sends a renewal notice out about 6 months out. Might as well get it done.

I messed around on mine, and wound up sending it in about 60 days before expiration. As long as it is taking them now(DPS) to get them processed, I will probably wind up with an expired card before I get my renewal. Best to do it ASAP.

My first renewal came at 18 months. My second came at 3.5 years. Thankfully, the license lasts a little longer now.
