Hey guys, for those who haven't seen my previous Threads, I'm a Canadian looking to move to Austin within the next few years or so. Anyways, on to the topic at hand.

During my research of the Lone Star State, I found that many Liberals are moving to Texas, especially the bigger areas like Houston, Austin, Dallas, etc... Now I'm a little worried. Because how long before they are many and have a large footing in politics? Could Texas become a blue state? Gun rights in jeopardy? With Liberals often comes Liberal ideas, which they usually shove down peoples throats. I work in Toronto and it is riddle with this kind of cancer. All I want to do is just get away from them and enjoy my guns. How is Texas doing as of now? Thanks!

Like the worker bees to the queen bee, the liberals like to be near the hives. Fortunately there are enough of us in the tulies to counter the worker bees.

They've been coming here for decades. Austin has been way liberal for even longer. Go down along the border and you'll find more blue counties.

We were taught in school that when Texas was admitted to the union, there was a provision that it could later split into 5 separate states if it desired. Perhaps we can split into 4 red states and 1 blue one if necessary. Judging by the voting precinct maps I've seen, that map wouldn't be that out of the ordinary.

Unfortunately, that would mostly be the heart of Texas, it could only work if we can build a wall.

The only places left that are worth living in, ain't fit for living in.
I toured a bunch of isolated areas this week.
Good folks. Friendly. Conservative. Barely scratching out a living.
The good areas are a lost cause.
    Dammit!

I enjoyed the round about trip to NM.
Got to see country I'd not seen before. People waving as you met on a highway. Farm equipment moving over so you could pass and waving as you did so. People driving slow, cuz that's what they do, not cuz it bothers anyone. Cowboys on horseback crossing ahead or behind. I told her, "I want to move".
    She ain't game.

    Sigh.

I don't mind living here, sure it's a desert and landscaped with oil wells, but as a biker it suits me. I can ride just a couple hours in any direction to find beauty and have fun doing it.

Mine is more anxious to leave West Texas than I am. And guaranteed you didn't see any of that nice stuff around here.
No, I don't call Odessa beautiful, especially in town. I actually live out in Pleasant Farms about 25 miles from town and if I head north I take the loop around town.

Wasn't anywhere close to the Permian basin.
If I can, I'll keep it that way. Them vato gravel haulers are dangerous.

The loop is usually a much safer option, especially on a bike. Far fewer idiots going around this town than through it.
