Obama certainly seems a better choice right now than McCain. It is time to see a true Conservative return, we haven't had one since Ford.

Again I ask "How so?" I see them both as enemies of the Constitution, but do not see how giving BHO the White House and a DEM House andSenate would do We the People anything but harm.

Remember, .gov entitlements NEVER go away once enacted.

Well, Obama seems to be far less an Authoritarian than McCain.

I am far less worried about the entitlements going to individuals than those going to Corporate.

I think we need to face some very serious times over the next 50 years or so and I fear those such as McCain that propose short term and honestly stupid solutions.

    Corporations bad?????

A corporation built my house, my cars, provided energy to fuel my cars, warm and cool my house, built my guns, provided food at a large corporate grocery store, built my lawn mower, my computer, invented medicine for my diabetes, etc,etc... Mom and pop stores can't do that.
The liberal mind is a strange place to be, especially those who claim to not be liberal, but think like one.
Time will tell, one way or the other.

You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.

Lets just "hope" this has not "changed"!

The truth of the matter is that Obama and Mccain both suck. They just suck in different ways.

While Mccain would likely hurt our freedoms more blatantly for matters of "national security", make no mistake that Obama's policies will hurt America as well just in a more indirect manner. Sure, things might not seem bad at first, but lets think about how much we currently pay in taxes every year. Right now we pay federal income tax (some states have state AND federal tax!), sales tax, if you're self-employed you pay a self employment tax, exorbitant taxes on things like cigarettes, some people have to pay toll road fees........the list goes on. A big one most people don't even consider is that the increase in the supply of money concurrently results in the decline of the value of our dollar (classic supply and demand). The decline in the value of the dollar ultimately results in higher cost of living, which is in itself a hidden tax. The effects are more long term so they seem to be commonly overlooked. So all of those aren't enough taxes? Now the average productive citizen is going to have to start taking on a federal mandatory "national healthcare" tax to pay for all those currently uninsured people out there? First off, take one good look at the horrible failure of the social security system, and the fact that we currently cannot really afford to pay out even a small percentage of those who will be cashing out over the next half century or so. So with that dismal failure, we are going to pile on things like national healthcare??!?!?!?!??!! Sweet mother of god. While I don't want to sound like I'm generalizing here, these typical policies, typically pushed by Democratic candidates and politcians, while feel good in nature have very real and very serious negative effects on this country in so many ways. The United States has literally become like a crack addict with no self respect, ready to get down on our knees to defile ourselves for that next dollar. We've become a debtor nation just maxing out it's cards, bouncing checks, and printing up fake money to try and get by and pretending we can just ignore the real issues and they will just disappear on their own. It's almost like we are slowly plummeting to the bottom of a cliff, and some of our own citizens are trying to make us fall FASTER by piling on even more debt. It doesn't matter to me if Obama is african-american, caucasian, asian, democrat, republican, whateverican.......he IS a Socialist, and that is reason enough that I cannot and will not support him.

The thing that really disappoints me is that sooooooooooo incredibly many of us get so blinded by the polarization of issues that we divide ourselves into categories like conservatives, liberals, democrats, republicans, etc, etc and in conjunction part of our brain shuts down and completely ignores even considering the other person's point of view, does not read between the lines to try and decipher the truth, etc etc. Heck, I'm guilty of it sometimes myself too. What we need to do as Americans is work to try and cut out this emotional dissociation and simply look at things for the facts and base judgments on the facts so we'll stop skewing the issues and making wrong decisions that negatively affect the future of this country.
