Hold your horses, chief ;) I'd argue that I don't need any of the things he mentioned except maybe a thread protector and the tall night sights (both of which I had to purchase separately for my USPct). But then, too, I'm always on the lookout for deals and I got mine as a brand new LEO package (extra, 3rd magazine) for $815 shipped, over $250 cheaper than an FN Tactical. Granted, I got lucky but it's been known to happen from time to time.

Still proves the point for people who have to pay regular prices haha, more bang for the buck with the FNX45 tactical ;)

    You're an LEO?

Nah, hkspecialist.net happened to have a LEO package that a cop ordered and never picked up. It sat in their shop for I'm guessing 5 years (bought it two years ago and the date code makes it a 2007 manufacture) before Gordon Miller just up and put it on his site to get rid of, probably at cost. Not sure if I made out like a bandit, though. With the match trigger kit, extended mag release from an HK45 Compact, and the Novak tritium suppressor sights, I've got about $1100 or so in it.

lucky bastard. I have my fair share of available gun discounts via my place of employment, but even at discount I can't afford an $1100 benelli M4.

okay - back to the OP. I've got a PX4 (albeit in 9mm) and I love it, but I'm not sure why it made the list. It has a manual safety that turns a pin that connects the hammer to the firing pin horizontally. It's a little strange because when the gun is cocked, and you flip the safety, it drops the hammer and turns the pin vertically. It also has a safety on the hammer, where you can leave the safety off and pull the hammer back a bit and it locks in place in DA mode. Like it or not, I've put 1000+ rounds down the tube and it has been absolutely flawless.

I dry-fired a Px4 (9mm) in the store and liked the hand fit, so I thought I'd consider it. Leaning toward the SIG or FNX.

    Interesting discussions. Thanks.

    A d/a-s/a 45?

I'd skip everything else and head straight for an HK45 or HK45C.

Those are probably the best in that configuration. Pricey? Yeah, but there is a reason a Lexus costs more than a Chrysler.

Eh, I'm fine with my USPs although I have been eyeing an HK45 Tactical. It'd be completely superfluous, though, as both of my USPs are threaded barrel.
