My friend was shooting his Remington model 58 shotgun when he had a cycling problem. Somehow he got a live round stuck in the chamber and the magazine tube still has one more round in it. The bolt is stuck closed. Anyone has any ideas how to remove the shells? The nearest gunsmith is over 60 miles away.
What is the law concern about tranporting a loaded weapon?

To tell the truth I have not seen it in person myself either. I just got a phone call from my buddy last night about his shotgun. I plan to take a look at it today.

I just got done researching that shotgun, the first thing i would try if you cant get the bolt to open is pull the barrel. The extractor might be stuck on the wrong side of the rim and that is why it locked up on him.

Well I got it taken care of. Thank God that the shell stuck in the chamber was already fired. It looks like it just did not cycle back. So I pulled the bolt back out pop the shell. I carefully worked the action and removed the other shells in the magazine tube. This shotgun has a gas valve to adjust from a heavy round and a light round. It looks like the valve was set to "H" for heavy and he was shooting light winchester birdshot bulk ammo. Thanks for all the help guys.
