Longest Wild Game Shot?

Just curious. To all the fellow hunters out there on TGT, what is you longest wild game successful shot? For me it's 358 yds (per Leopold range finder). With most of my hunting being under 200 yds, I just don't shoot very far.

A prairie dog about 600 yards with a 264wm. Shot it as facing me under the chin. Thought I missed it, but it looked like a hand puppet when I got next to it. The wm was a little over kill, but a favorite of mine.

heart shot on a fallow deer at 265 yards off of the windshield of a can am. He was rutting hard and I had about a 2 second pause to get him in the crosshairs. Dropped ten yards from where I hit him.

180gr Interlock handloads out of a 308 Ruger American. I am hoping that when I get to WY I will be able to do a bit more long distance hunting

What were you doing in Stratford besides killing little dogs on the prairie? There is absolutely nothing in Stratford?

I took a trotting Jackal@ 300 yards. I was seated, used the roll bar for a rest. This wagon a bet. I think that fact that I called the distance then adjust the ballistic cam on the scope before the shot - drop impressed them as much!

Shot a hog at around 290. Had many chances to take further shots, but chose not to. Longest on a Whitetail is 155. Both with a 308.

She was across a field looking dead at me.
Put the crosshairs between her eyes and pulled.
Bullet hit her in the throat. DRT.

Dove about 80yds.
I was using an old "Long Tom" 12ga single shot. This cannon had a 34" full choke barrel on it.
Big bunch of doves flew by. I waited a second to let them get out a ways. They turned and went 90 degrees in the blink of an eye like they do. They were all the way over across a stock pond when I pulled. I led them by enough distance you could drive a bus through it. To everyones surprise one of them on the back end of the bunch folded up and tumbled down. Heck! I'll take that! LOL.

If it’s a hog, I’m all for taking the long shot. Hopefully you’d just wing him and he’d go off and die somewhere- and bring friends.

I dropped a running coyote at a range-findered 276 yards.... used the range finder after the shot. He was running because I had shot over him once, which kicked him into high gear going up the other side of a draw.

My longest handgun shot was with my scoped Stainless Ruger Redhawk in .41mag. I took this Spotted Fallow at 118 yards while laying on the ground. Of all the animals I have harvested over the last 50 years this is my proudest moment. Perfect broadside shot and he took two steps and dropped like a rock.
