I looked at it drove it etc. I have concerns about it though. Im knowledgeable about vehicles. The guy wanted $5500 for it. He used the title of it being in excellent condition blah blah blah etc. I looked at it there are small dings on the outside, theres rust in the bed, the paint is chipping down the center of the hood, dirt and mud up underneath the truck. The bumper is slightly pulled outward. Then the guy tells me the fan will need to be replaced at the same time I looked at the tires they are all balled he also said the way the tires are it wont pass inspection. So then I said well those are 16's thats probably $160 a tire.. the fan might cost around $800 thats $1.4k for that repair. Then at 195k miles on the original transmission thats a concern of mine. Everything else works but, all the parts under the hood are all the originals 17 years old. The truck runs good, but I have to look to the future and I see repairs. So I emailed the guy let him know all of this and said Ill offer $3000 for his truck. I dont think thats a cheap price considering the work that needs to be done plus the future. Blue book says that truck is worth $5200 in excellent no dents nothing wrong with it. Whats your opinion?

Agree, however i will buy it for $3k. To me for anything being that much it should be in tip top condition. Thats just how I raised though.

$800 for a fan!? Which fan?? It can't be the radiator fan at that price...

The tires are going to be load range E; E for "expensive". :p

    I'd pass on it IMO.

well thats what my friend said a radiator fan for that much. I havent priced it though. The radiator cap was rusty too, and some dust on the upper rubber hose.

Well that's the other thing about buying something, If you feel you have paid a fair price or have gotten a really good deal and your happy with what you got....then go for it. Or take it to someone (mechanic) that will be honest about what your about to buy.

Good luck, hope everything works out for you. If you do buy it, post some pictures.

I can do the work, my problem is for the high price for a 92' it should have at least decent tires, not racing slicks... well unless I wanna qualify for texas motor speedway.

I walked. The guy doesnt understand what stuff is worth. When something has original parts 15 yrs plus and a tranny sitting at 195k its time for repairs and a transmission rebuild. Ive been down this road before. Yes its the 250 power ram (4 x 4) I need a a diesel 4 x 4 for farm work and hauling a bulldozer. But its got to be computer free with a mechanical fuel pump.
