I am looking for a good quality gun safe that will hold about 14 long guns and have several shelves for pistols, etc.
I am looking in the $500-$800 price range. I might be willing to trade .223 ammo (Remington & PMC) or a new in the box Stag Model 2. But it would have to be a pretty exceptional safe.
    Thanks

    hey

I have the same question. I need a gun safe(dont even think about it.) I will be gone for a while and need to make sure my guns are SECURED. Any recommendations. If it is pricy but worth it, well then its worth it and please recommend it. Thanks:patriot:

Do your best to hold back D, it might not be safe.... As to the OP, gander has a smaller combination safe (claims to hold 8-12 rifles with shelves for pistols etc down one side) for about $550, Academy has one that is a bit larger with a better fire rating for $700 or $799, cant remember.....

Saw a safe at Bass Pro Shop, about $850, think it held about 20 rifles, and had a 1 1/2 hour fire rating.

Look at Pentagon Safes in Houston-There's just 2 safe companies that have American made safes-Pentagon/Sportsman Steel and Ft. Knox safes. The rest Browning, Bass Pro, Gander Mountain ect are made in China with cheap steel. Pentagon and Ft. Knox are bent and not welded. Most of the fire rating on the Chinese safes comes from dry wall in the walls and doors. Have to ask the ? like the person did on reloading about the person paying 850.00 for a reloader then wanting to put his brass in an ice cream freezer makes no sence to me to put several thousands of dollars of guns in something that can be pried open with a tire iron. All this just my humble opinion-just make sure you're happy and your stuff is really safe. Normally you get what you pay for at least in my experiance.
