    My sister-in-law worked in Kimber CS for over a decade. I could have purchased 1 Kimber a year for half price.

    I don't own any Kimber pistols nor have I. My SIL told me I was crazy if I did.
    I don't think your SIL gave you good advice.

    Kimber was the largest seller of 1911s for a long time. The pure volume they produced will create a large amount of firearms with problems but in reality the percentage of failures was low.

    I never heard anything bad about their actual customer service either.

    Maybe there's more to her advice but keep in mind you generally only hear about people having issues not the happy customers.

    My experience with Kimber 1911s was very good and I'd have jumped all over half price firearms from them.
