Looking for a place to plink in San Antonio

Hi guys. New member. Tired of the gun range. Looking for a place in San Antonio I can take my 22's and plink. Know of any?

San Antonio, New Mexico, maybe. Just stay off the range and upwind of Trinity. San Antonio, Texas? Uh, no.

So where are you from?

I know what you are looking for and sadly the answer is there is none. Unlike some states with huge tracts of BLM land, Texas, or at least anywhere near civilization is quite the opposite. Best I find is Cedar Ridge during the week if I want to shoot without no one next to me or even on the same bay.

I'd say explore on your own when I'm not in the mood to shoot at a range I shoot by the brazos river never been bothered but maybe there isn't too many secluded river spots around San antone

Howdy. What part of San Antonio? There’s pretty much a range within 30 minutes of anywhere.

If you’re not from around here, as @Southpaw mentioned Texas doesn’t do BLM land. Short version is we didn’t trade land for debt relief when joining the Union.

If you live out in that neck of the woods, I’ll second Cedar Ridge on FM 1863 near FM 3009. During the week, it’s pretty good. And some of the regular weekend steel and IDPA matches are lot of fun as well.

Appreciate the referral. Went to Lonestar today and shot 4 hours. Had a good time. My 22's finally got some plinking in. Had to keep the party going so brought out the 9mm pistols and they loved the metal targets as well. Thanks again.
