There isn’t much of anything between the NAA mini’s and a J frame S&W size wise.
I carry a NAA in .22mag frequently. Its super small and light.
I found the J frames a tad too large and heavy but my experience is with the all steel guns. The modern alloy frame guns are much lighter.
Ruger now makes the polymer framed revolvers but they seem larger than a J frame.
Any of the calibers you mentioned are good to go for SD purposes.

Many years ago, I gave the Bride a "Scandium" J-frame .38spl. She didn't like or want it, so it sat in safe some 15+ years. Then, the Fat Guy began having belt problems. I took the Smith out, put it in a "sticky" pocket holster, and we're getting along fine now. Problem is that, even with a couple speed-loaders, 15 rounds total.

The piece is very expensive, one of the "AirWeight" Aluminum jobs would probably do just as well.

This 442 Airweight goes everywhere I go. A speedstrip goes in my right front pocket.

Ruger SP101 in 357. It’s size is between the S&W J and K frames and is just right for my avg. hands. Due to arthritis it’s loaded with 38 special +P. A speed strip fits perfectly in the change pocket of my jeans.

I've been oc'ing my Colt Cobra (identical to. colt detective). I could easily conceal it if need be.

After carrying a P320c, P320sc, P220 and sometimes a 1911, the colt is like nothing.
