Maybe I should have broken these up, and if the mods so deem then I will, but it's just short of 3am as I type this so kindly bear with me
Firstly I would like to know if anyone knows of a shop in the Houston area that has a fairly wide selection of holsters would prefer a place south side of town, since i live an hour south already, but it is what it is. Both my wife and I need new holsters for our 1911s. In her case she needs one that is a better "fit" for her than the blackhawk SERPA type we tried first (the blackhawk doesn't do well with her body shape and she hates the retention latch of the SERPA). and I want one that is a little faster on the draw for use in local USPSA matches. just a note we've already checked the Arms Room (friday) and no joy, all of their 1911 holsters were either Duty type rigs or made for 4-1/2" or less barreled guns.
Second question/need is that I would like some recomendations for a gunsmith to fit a match grade barrel/bushing to my 1911. While i feel that with time, care and lots of study I can fix/fit most anything on my current guns, I am not yet comfortable fitting a barrel. therfore I would appreciate any recomedations you can give. If the first one turns out well enough there is a definite possiblity of return business for a second pistol.
anyway, thank you for your time and any advice or leads you can provide
