Hey yall, i have a s&w 686 that i'd like to get a hi-vis front sight installed on.

Seems simple, but i have neither the tools nor experience to attempt this on such a precious pistol.

Any recommendations for gunsmiths between San Marcos and South Austin?

    Cheers!

Is it pinned on? If so just buy the sight and appropriate punch and do it. You tube will help you if needed. A simple roll pin holds it in.

If the front sight is already pre-drilled for the retaining pin it's a simple swap. If not it'll take a little more time but it ain't too hard. If you're not comfortable doing it yourself I know the gunsmiths at The Range do sight installs for a set price. Check their website.

Agreed it ain't hard. I have changed out several since the gunsmith charged me $200 to do one a while back. AnywayI use these guys, they provide the sight and to special tools to do the job. And instructions.
